Want a squier telecaster, but which one to buy?

Right then i figure its about time i learn to play guitar and fancy a telecaster that bit is set. Going tomorrow to pick one up as found a place near burton which has pretty much the whole range from affinity to classic vibe so will try them all and pick one to come home with.

Any thoughts on which one i should be leaning towards? Classic vibe is absolute max price £319 that i will go to.

Also has anyone been to normans music shop in burton.

Those Squier Classic Vibes are nice, for the price you pay for them. The bodies are made of pine, but tbh as a first guitar you're not going to notice. The Classic Vibes are on another level to the Affinity series. The Affinity series are workable, reasonably playable, not great sounding things but they are super cheap. The Classic Vibe series is a considerable jump in terms of quality. They're not as nice to play as the Mexican Teles, but they're good enough to be considered a good choice for a cheap Telecaster even for an experienced guitarist.

sounds like your thoughts match my findings in that either one is a great choice for the money. Have been offered elsewhere the affinity for £135 and the classic vibe for £270 so decent savings.

The money won't make too much of a difference to me but my dad has a few nice guitars one of which being a very nice telecaster so don't need to go to high up the ladder but do want something I can progress with.

And no I'm not borrowing any of his guitars for fear of damaging them.
