Thinking of buying a 12 string.
Discussion
Been playing acoustic for a couple of years. Really starting to sound like I'm playing music now!
I gig regularly using backing tracks & play a few chords over the top but looking to do a few songs acoustic only.
Seen a guy in a pub recently using a 12 string & really want one myself now.
Seen the epiphone dr212 for £140. Seems good value.
Yamaha acoustics always get good reviews & start at a good price.
Then there are the budget "gear4music" http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B001C3RYMQ?vs=1
£70.
I'm keeping an eye out for a used one locally too.
Or best to just save & get something decent. Taylor, Guild etc

I know it is the default answer, but you need to go to a shop and play as many as you can and go from there.
Yamaha make some great guitars, as do Epiphone. It was a 6 string, but my old AJ-10 punched well above its weight.
Completely agree with you regarding playing a few. Should be able to try the epiphone as a local shop stocks them. If it plays right I'll probably have one. Seen a few nice Yamahas on eBay but nothing locally as yet. Yamaha make some great guitars, as do Epiphone. It was a 6 string, but my old AJ-10 punched well above its weight.
