Yeah..No.
This is just greedy stars expecting even more money.
I get they are moaning that spotify have a free tier and they get less money but doubling the standard price of Spotify is simple greed, and then stating you only get the HD quality if you pay double the standard price is laughable.
I lost some respect for Daft Punk being amongst that line up, as I thought they were more fan orientated.

I am all for paying for music and I have just started to get into spotify as it has heaps of old weird stuff like 90's PC game music, but this Tidal just smacks of massive ego's and greed and I hope it falls flat to show them that the reason Pirate Bay and napster were so succesfull was because CD's and ITunes (at the time) were far too expensive.
This will just make people want to pirate music even more, its like they didn't see the last 15 years of history in music distribution.
The pretention in the video of them all round that table on my FB feed this morning was laughable.

The whole thing is massively flawed!
For a start, if other small artists sign up, will they get a piece of the pie or just a small payment for music played?
If its the latter, then they are no better than the middle man they're claiming to cut out!
Clearly they only want to cut out the middle man for themselves, but then become it for everyone else.
High quality music:

Have you used the latest apple ear phones? they are very good (agree prob not FLAC good), and certainly not 99p, add £19 to that.And agree on the beats front for the previous generation, but the new studios and solo 2's are genuinely good - anything but crappy.

Anyway on topic I've got nothing against Spoitfy, of all those companies I think they're the best. Agree about this Tidal thing, just seems like greedy BS from the artists involved. Annoyingly I see it working for them just because they have that much influence and money over the mainstream. However Kanye is involved so he'll probably f
