I've ended up preordering the Ltd edition of this after not even buying the last album. I'm absolutely loving reapers and dead inside and got my fingers crossed this is going to be a belter of an album!

Have to say, I'm delighted. I've always been a Muse fan but felt a bit apologetic about big chunks of the last two albums. No such apologies needed here. It's not a perfect album but there are no turkeys and there are some utter belters. It's close to the standard of Black Holes & Revelations. It's moved away from the Twilight fans and back towards a bit of metal.

Reapers is a cracking track, like an updated Thunderstruck. (Or a ripped off Thunderstruck to some, but they've done it very well.)
Drones (the track) is eerie but a great finish to an album. Amen. :-)

As a massive Muse fan that hasn't really understood the hate of the last 2 albums...

Not keen on the final 3 tracks but the rest are excellent. Perhaps a bit too much political nonsense but musically, brilliant.

Some decent length tasters on iTunes ,actually sounds like it may be worth the cash.

I've had a good listen now, and I really like it. Muse are back to form. Not quite Black Holes and Revelations level, but certainly not as noodly as they have been in the past. And I really like Drones - it's different. smile

I love Muse but the last album was poor. They went a bit camp and a bit Queen for my liking (and I detest Queen) Just a blip on an otherwise great back catalog. I have to wait for Fathers Day apparently before fully sampling Drones but the snippets on iTunes sound promising. Looking forward to getting this.

I quite liked it. Got a little Pink Floyd towards the end (no bad thing), but was something that will no doubt grow on me. I'm still waiting for them to surpass Origin of Symmetry however!

Shame it sounds like it was recorded in a bathtub.

Really enjoying this.

Get's a bit self indulgent towards the end but overall much better than the last two which had more misses than hits (for me).

Great album IMO, better than The Resistance and The 2nd Law, we are at Download Festival - they are headlining Saturday night and if the show is half as good as their Psycho Tour was then it is gonna be something else.

Dropped the HD tracks to a DVD-Audio yesterday and listened last night. As somebody who likes "The Resistance" and "the 2nd Law" it's rather Disappointing. It's almost a pastiche.

I have to agree. Listened to Drones, and Origin of Symmetry back to back on a long journey this week, and there really is no comparison.

I think its a great album, like a few people have said, its no Origin of Symmetry or Absolution, but its the best material they've released for a while.

Amazed people want bands to keep releasing the same type of music again and again, and if they do ..people complain all their records sound the same.

A few brilliant songs on the new album, definitely the best since Black Holes and Revelations. Not keen on Psycho but Reapers is now one of my favourite Muse songs.

Went to download to see them last night, first time since Wembley 2010. They played Citizen Erased cloud9

This, in spades. I like bands who try to do something a little differently.

Very jealous about Citizen Erased live- not seen that since 2010.
