Will this be their last album? Steve Harris has talked about making 15 albums and then stopping.
Iron Maiden are epic live so I hope they come over to the middle east.

Would love to see them live.
They played Dubai back in 2009 on their Somewhere Back in Time world tour.
Gutted I missed it.

I've seen them at Download fest and on a Matter of Life and Death tour at Earls court, when the amps caught light!

I was due to see them on the Powerslave tour back in 84/85 aged 13. Had my ticket and bus booked but then my parents decided to go visit my grandparents the wekend of the concert so I ended up having to swap it. I think I saw Magnum on their Storyteller tour.
Never got the opportunity until Matter of Life and Death but wasn't a great fan of that album and they ended up playing the whole album each night. Sadly not as good as I hoped.
The big stadium gigs are not my cup of tea, saw ACDC a few years back and may as well been sat on the moon.

I love Maiden but I've not a fan of the more prog rock direction they've taken in the last few albums. Matter had some good tunes but Final Frontier just plodded on forever, so I can't say I'm that excited about the prospect of an 18 minute song
Gripe I've had with the last few albums is they've felt very lopsided, in that the latter portions are dominated by the 8-10 minute stuff, with the rockier "obvious single" track(s) at the start. Still enjoy the bulk of the songs, but like you say, things can tend to plod, and quite a few could have several minutes lopped out of them without suffering - only so many two minute bass intros you can cram into one disc. Tracks lengths on this new one look a little bit more varied, notwithstanding the 18 minute closer, so will be interesting to see what sort of mood the shorter songs have.Gassing Station | Music | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
