John is an amazing guitarist, he has some good songs in his catalogue but this is the high point and nothing else he has done really even started to come close to it. Revisiting this has me realising that it's been more than 10 years since I first heard the version I've linked to, I first saw that video on a guitar website before YouTube even existed. Time flies!

I first heard John Butler about 10-11 years ago when they played a video for 'Zebra' at the cinema we were in in Phoenix, AZ - went straight out and bought the CD, which still gets played.

Seeing this thread made me check out when he's touring, and he happens to be playing in France on one of the evenings when we're on holiday there, and 'only' about 200Km from where we're staying !! Currently looking into tickets / logistics to see if it's doable.

Yep, I remember this video from the good old days. Back before Youtube, when small video hosting operations were going, I remember this cropping up on MXtabs or Talkbass. Great tune.
