Not quite... Hall and Oates is probably the most similar one so far but its a bit more uptempo and funkier than that...

that is a truly superb performance if you've not got the double album of live performances there are some belters on there as well.

but no i'm 99% sure it's not talking heads as i'm sure i'd have heard it before...

it's possibly a mid to late 70s song thinking about it, it's not over produced like a typical 80s pop song but it does have that sort of vibe to it... i think the chorus is well known despite it being quite odd sounding

Thanks for posting. Been a long time fan of Talking Heads and it's great to hear how they / DB developed songs over the years - his version of Wild Wild life with brass band on the Love This Giant tour with St Vincent was just amazing - but this stripped back original is just brilliant.
