Now Keith Emerson has left us

Terrible news. I once sat next to him on a train, probably around 1990. He was with a couple of younger guys travelling up to London and, not being a huge fan of ELP at the time, I recognised him but couldn't think from where until I saw his gold Rolex with a blue face which I had noticed on a TV performance a bit before this (the Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary Concert - which I had recorded on VHS) and then I realised who it was. Anyway, he seemed like a really nice bloke who spent the whole journey from Lewes (East Sussex) to Victoria laughing and joking with the other two guys. Strangely I also saw him a couple of days later walking round West London.
It's sad that, as these musicians from the 1960's and 1970's, are all now in their sixties and seventies it is inevitable that more and more of them will be leaving us for the great gig in the sky. It is, however, particularly tragic that Keith felt the need to take his own life.
