Just got back. Saw 30 bands over the 3 days. It was superb.

In chronological order...

  • Hill Valley High - pop punk stuff, just to get me warmed up
  • Puppy - Riff-tastic rock with marmite vocals, I enjoyed!
  • Graveyard - I was really enjoying until rain stopped play!
  • The Amity Affliction - post-hardcore, great stuff, want to see them play a smallish venue now
  • Korn - so good, got the crowd well warmed up
  • Rammstein - pyro, pyro and more pyro... very much a performance!
  • Beartooth - woke me up on a Sunday, again need to see in a smaller venue
  • Black Peaks - my favourite new band nailed it once again
  • Atreyu - watched them as I walked to another stage, got to hear a few songs and one of them is the only one I knew so that's good
  • The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing - only heard one song... funny!
  • Scorpion Child - pretty good, if unremarkable
  • TesseracT - djenty djent - djentdjent - djent - djent djent
  • Bury Tomorrow - quite good, singer loves himself
  • Megadeth - wasn't a fan before, I am now!
  • Deftones - I mean c'mon... it's deftones! Of course it was good
  • Black Sabbath - Wow. If they are this good now... how good must they have been back in the day?
  • Buck & Evans - possibly and arguably the best vocals and guitar work of the weekend
  • Whiskey Myers - warmed me up with some good Southern rock
  • Amon Amarth - literally stopped me in my tracks. What a great performance
  • The Dirty Youth - I like their sound but was at the back of the tent
  • The Temperance Movement - a little too polished maybe, good but not great
  • Attila - one of the worst bands I've ever listened to... it was only because I needed a piss and was waiting for the next band
  • Frank Carter & The Rattle Snakes - So fecking good. The circle pit quite literally went out of the tent... all the way around it... and back in the other side.
  • Kenneths - more pop punky stuff, only caught the end
  • Black Foxxes - can't wait for their new album, another good performance from them
  • Tremonti - another toilet break and wait for the next band - at his point Tremonti is a seasoned professional
  • Disturbed - only got to see them because Ghost had to cancel, Sound of Silence was great, so was their medley with special guests... Down With The Sickness was awesome
  • Gojira - fk me. What a sounds. Last time I was pummeled by sound like that was Mastodon... beastly
  • Nightwish - Just fancied a sit down on the hill... not bad
  • Iron Maiden - never played a duff note - so good
Any one else go?

I was there for the 3 days. Mostly on the Disabled viewing platform on the Lemmy stage with my wife. Due to the mud that's as far as she could get.
I also watched one song from the Men who won't be blamed for nothing. Best performances of the weekend for me were Disturbed and Shinedown. Had heard some of there stuff before but really impressed with them live. Thought the sound quality was a bit off especially during Maiden. Sounded like Bruces voice kept dropping out. All in all though a great weekend and will definatly go again.
Was up at 4:30 am yesterday to get away before the rush. Now working a night shift and very much looking forward to my own bed.

My cousins other half is the bassist in the Dirty Youth. I really like them, wasn't so keen at first but they definitely grow. Danny the leading lady has a hell of a voice.
