Weirdly "addictive" tunes

I am posting this in here and not in music because its not a "music" answer im looking for.
Why are some "tunes" (i.e songs and melodies) addictive to listen to, theres this song on the radio at the moment, and I dont particularly like this style of music, but the song its self is almost "addictive" to listen to, its like the backing tune is hypnotic? and this seems to happen a lot.
Once you have listened to it a lot it starts being annoying like any other song would. I wouldnt say I particularly like the song, just thats its hypnotic almost, why does this happen?

Something resonates with your tastes I guess. Chord progressions, the key of the song, melodic changes, lyrics, rhythm, timbre; any one of these could play a part.
What you've described sounds a lot like songs that are guilty pleasures; there's something about them that you like which lies outside your normal parameters of what you consider a good song/track.

This one has wormed its way in recently. No lyrics, the animation isn't as clever as on some of their other offerings, and I can't remember how I stumbled across it. But it's stuck in there.
