Keith Moon died 38 years ago today. Yet even non-rock fans know who Keith Moon was.

Friend of mine was at school with him, said he was utterly bonkers then too. Apparently set fire to Wembley Ice Rink in a row over the hired shoes being the wrong size, when he was about 12, but never got caught.

Oliver Reed speaking of his friendship with Keith Moon.
"I was fairly set in my ways. I knew the path to the bar, but not to the bizarre. Thank God he showed me it. Keith showed me the way to insanity.”

Met him several times ,the who supplied sound equipment to many festivals ,events etc .
The company I worked for supplied tool kits to the techs and riggers .
I got to see the business side of the band .
They could put a million watts of sound on five different venues

Remembered more for his antics than his drumming, you might say.

Moon wasn't just the jester/loon that the media (& Moon) loved to portray, he was quite handy at his day job too..

Or Elvis Hitler - he was quite famous too....

But, back to the Who

The stories included that he wouldn't believe the band hadn't brought in a different drummer for some track or other (one of the more famous hits?) when he had been so slaughtered and couldn't remember the take. Legendary!
