where to take 12 yr old to listen to live music, Rochester

Hi all, the boy is showing an interest in music, playing Guitar and currently studying for grade 3 drums.
I'm looking to expand his knowledge with a bit of live music, any genre, although he's liking jazz currently.
Looking for any venues that let a small lad in to experience music in a safe environment, instead of youtube on ipad.
I'm in north Kent area Rochester/gravesham area.
Any pointers appreciated before he discovers thrash metal!

Try Caro Emerald, I'm going to see her in Brighton in April and will be taking my 11 year old daughter to her first concert
