They're playing Brixton, thought about getting tickets but not sure. Maybe in a slightly smaller venue.

I find them intriguing. I think in part I am fascinated that two middle-aged men are breaking into the pop charts.t. See my 6 music thread for details. I knew the lead singer in the 90s when he worked at Paul Smith in Nottingham. He was pleasant, but clearly marched to the beat of his own drum. I am quite pleased for him that he is doing well, but I am as surprised in equal measure.
Youtube 'Trixie', 'Chop Chop Chop' and 'The Mod that fell to Earth'. All early stuff that's not available now. Some great Sex Pistols looped. They're not for everybody but there is a lot going on in the lyrics.
I really like them and first encountered Jason Williamson on Ibiza by the Prodigy. Saw them on Jools and was hooked. Sure,people qoute The Fall, and John Cooper Clarke etc. but they really are in a league of their own as there's never been anything else like it. I like the lyrics, they're gritty, dark humoured, and give a taste of life at the bottom of the pile. There's a grim reality to them and i like a lot of what they say in interviews. A good reflection of austerity Britain although a lot on here (NP&E)probably will dismiss it. Try the early stuff, it's the most authentic i feel. Good to see a thread about them.

I first saw them on Jooles Holland..and became intrigued. Saw an interview with the main man and Tim Lovejoy, and become even more intrigued as they really irritated me to start with. Bloke came across really well and has stayed true to what he wants to do.
For someone who lived through the punk era they have a uniqueness and raw edge which basically ends up with a catchy backing track and some clever lyrics ......Ian Drury meets john Cooper Clark
