I saw both The cramps and the meteors live. Both were excellent but the cramps always seemed a bit more unhinged. 
Just spent a while going through some classic cramps on YouTube. Bad music for bad people was a great album.
Even in their hay day, they didn't get much attention really, the psycho billy subculture was kind of scoffed at and looked down upon generally. I absolutely loved it as a teenager but it's not music I've played much since.
