The Return of The KLF?

No idea if there's any new music on the way, but they were all over the news yesterday, travelling through the streets of Liverpool in their ice cream van.

I spent a lot of time in Amsterdam a few years ago. Everytime I saw "KLM" on a sign, my brain went "KLF...aha ... aha... beep beep beep" ;-)

Ive been following the antics in Liverpool via The KLF group on Facebook, there's alsorts of crazy stuff going on!
Sadly no mention of music so far, and they've pretty much given out statements to say the same too, but you never know with that pair!

They have a new book out which was part of the Liverpool events.

I doubt any new music will occur, although there was a performance by Badger Kull at one of their events which I assume was some kind of ironic art piece from them perhaps.

I used to love the KLF., ‘what time is love’ was my favourite.

They were a bit weird though, singing about Justified Ancients of Mu Mu and burning a load of money on an island, then vanishing for 20 years.

Now they’re driving around in an ice cream van doing some more weird stuff.

Badger Kull is made up from some of the 400 who got tickets. Everyone was given a task or job for the 3 day event.

KLF are the JAMS/Justified Ancients of Mu Mu. Most of their music was released under that name, more than under KLF

I was quite a fan of the KLF. I even have a copy of 1987 on vinyl. (I have played it once, it's pretty awful.)

A genuine copy of 1987 on vinyl in excellent condition is worth a few hundred these days when I last looked

Yeah, the problem is that I think they only released 400 copies? (I also think they destroyed a lot of them on purpose.) (It's been a while since I've talked about them so my facts may be slightly wrong - do correct me.)

I am not sure my copy of the album is one of the original 400. I bought it in a used record fair in 1991 so who knows.

The Manual is only a google search away, its pretty easy to find a PDF of it.
Well worth doing as the paperback goes for silly money.
It's a good read, some of it dated now but a lot is still relevant, and gives a good insight into how they took the piss out of the music industry

I think you've got your timeline a bit awry there. They were Justified Ancients of Mu Mu long before the KLF thing kicked in.

Best track by far was Whiteny joins the JAMs. Opened a world of sampling possibilities to every teen music maker.

I have a copy of 1987. Well, I say 'have'; it now resides wherever an evil ex who held my entire record collection ransom dumped it.

1987 was probably the first record I sold at a good profit, in Record Collector magazine if memory serves right. £80 when I bought it for about a fiver. Almost certainly a repress but don't even know if I knew the whole story back then. I do remember the guy who bought it was in Sweden and wasn't interested in the KLF/JAMs but collected ABBA stuff, so needed the record.

I might just dig out Who Killed The Jams tonight. Who doesn't like a bit of Scottish rap?
