RIP Charles Bradley

Really sad story given that he didn't get a real break until he was 60 having chased the dream most of his life.

Had tickets to see him in December and was probably one of the gigs I was most looking forward to; ever. Knew he'd had cancer previously so when the gig was cancelled suspected it might be health related.

Seeing Mr Jukes tonight and they used Charles Bradley for vocals on the stand out track from their debt album; could be a bit emotional.

Only recently came across his music after reading about him somewhere so thought I'd have a listen.

Yes very sad news, I knew he had cancer but was hoping he would pull through.

Crushing for Daptone to lose both him Sharon in less than a year!

It’s savage isn’t it. I saw him on Jools Holland and was hooked, we had our first dance to “Lovin’ you baby” and I love his take of “Changes”. Such raw emotion in his voice. I was hoping to see him later in the year too - only hoping as I was aware of his cancer. Such an amazing story, the film on him is well worth a watch too.

I also had tickets to see Motörhead shortly before Lemmy passed away.

I will never buy tickets to gigs again.
