Its been a while - quiz time!
Discussion
I'm sure there used to be a few quiz threads around, but can't find anything from the last 12 months or so, so thought I'd put one together.
20 songs to identify from their opening lyrics. All are songs that I think would have got some airplay in the UK sometime over the last 40 or so years. Doesn't really narrow it down, but we're not talking obscure mid-verse, mis-heard lyrics this time
Of course you can Google the answers, but please don't spoil it for others.
Prizes? Well, as many Internet Points as you'd like to award yourself - here goes...
1. Words like violence break the silence
2. If I should die this very moment I wouldn’t fear, for I’ve never known completeness like being here
3. Sheets of empty canvas, untouched sheets of clay
4. High above the roof tops, higher than the Milky Way. Slipping through the hourglass, shooting up the desert plain
5. It's not the way you look, it's not the way that you smile. Although there's something to them
6. Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand
7. Look out the left, the Captain said. The lights down there, that’s where we’ll land
8. Oh, no you’ll never get me up in one of these again. Cos what goes up, must come down
9. Say your prayers little one. Don't forget, my son, to include everyone
10. Standing at the limit of an endless ocean, stranded like a runaway, lost at sea
11. I do my makeup in somebody else's car, we order different drinks at the same bars
12. Pack it up, pack it in, let me begin. I came to win, battle me that's a sin
13. I'm so tired, of playing, playing with this bow and arrow
14. You wanna know if I know why, I can't say that I do. Don't understand the you or I, or how one becomes two
15. With a face like this, I won't break any hearts. And thinking like that I won't make any friends
16. One man on a lonely platform, one case sitting by his side
17. I don't know what you're looking for, you haven't found it baby, that's for sure
18. One, two, three and I come with the redneck style, 'cause you know I get paid by the mile, like Avis
19. So many destination faces going to so many places
20. I think I'm goin' mad and it's makin' me sad. It's a yearnin' for my old back door

Stevie Wonder - er...?
16. One man on a lonely platform, one case sitting by his side
Visage - Fade to Grey

The Motors - Airport
Yeah this was my thing a year or two ago. Life has changed a lot since then so I haven't really had the time to do any more. But thanks for remembering the idea!
Anyway nice to be on the other side for once;
1.) Enjoy The Silence - Depeche Mode
5.) If I Had A Photograph Of You - A Flock Of Seagulls
6.) Sir Duke - Stevie Wonder
3.) & 4.) are really bugging me already. Seems I'm better at setting them than guessing them

Anyway, we're quickly down to 10, so maybe I'm not that great at setting them...
