Looking at getting a digital piano for my project studio. Needs to be relatively inexpensive and robust. Needs MIDI ouput which I guess they'll all have at around the £500 mark?

I have gotten it down to the following:
  • KORG B1
  • CASIO CDP 230R
  • YAMAHA P45
  • CASIO PRIVIA PX160
  • KORG LP180
Does anyone have any experience of the above? I had a Roland electronic drum kit and went for an Alesis kit that was more expensive - thinking it was an upgrade / but found it didn't 'feel' as good, so would like to get the right keyboard in this instance.

We've got a Previa 760 which is the cabinet version of the 160 - same keyboard. I tried the Casio, Yamaha and Korg B1 in the shop, narrowed it down to Casio vs Yamaha pretty quickly based on feel. In the end I preferred the lighter feel of the Casio (especially as I have a pair of 8 year old learning) versus the smoother but slightly heavier action of the Yamaha. In reality I would have been happy with either!

Thank you! All noted!
