Avicii dead at 28

Not everyones cup of tea, but for anyone interested in the dance music scene its been hard to avoid his music and I would argue he (along with others) have probably introduced a whole new generation to dance music and EDM. In doing so he's paved the way for the likes of Kygo, and other 'mainstream' electronic acts.

Saw this on the news. Only 28 - he did have medical issues resulting from partying too hard. Stopped touring a few years ago as a consequence.

Again, not a true fan of the music I much prefer Paul van dyke etc but achieving what he did at 28, he obviously had great talent. RIP.

Just saw this on the news, he seemed like he was destined to be one of the few DJ names that sticks around for ages. That is no age.
Reading that he deliberately quit touring due to health issues as well makes it seem more of a sad story, considering how difficult doing so must have been in his position.

I'd seen a few folk a while ago getting lippy about lady gaga cancelling tours due to health issues, but i think some folk need don't really look at the big picture sometimes. Much as I love a good gig I'd much rather my favourite artists/ bands didn't work themselves into the ground for the sake of pushing out more shows.

There is documentary on Netflix showing the pressure he was under when he quit touring. Weird as it came up on my watchlist just as my wife read the news out that he died. Worth a watch, I hadn’t realized how much music he composed for others too. Very talented artist who loved creating music but not performing.
