Traditionally, third albums are always a bit hit and miss, bands have all the time in the world to write their first, the second they probably have a few leftovers and some ideas from the first one but the third was expected to be released maybe a year after that, when the stock of songs has run dry.
Sometimes they're a HUGE seller but regarded as weak in comparison to the first two (Oasis' Be Here Now is a great example of that, the fastest selling album of all time in week one but panned by critics), then other times they're an absolute masterpiece.
So, if you had to pick, which third album would you say was the greatest?
