Recently returned from my 5th Cruise To The Edge.

Brilliant as ever with the usual great performances from the top acts (Yes, Hackett, Jordan Rudess, Haken) but marred by some terrible prima donna soundchecking overruns meaning I missed a few slots I was looking forward to. Disappointingly, local UK unsung heroes IO Earth were one of the biggest culprits, oblivious to the fact that an original packed house all left to watch someone else.

A highlight was Jon Davidson (superb new Yes lead singer) singing Rush songs with the very talented Dave Kerzner's band (ex Sound of Contact).

Been a fan of Pendragon for a while now without seeing them live but have now seem them twice in 4 months; brilliant band.

Really like discovering new bands (to me) and this year there were 2 superb ones with long back catalogues that have passed me by, both with great songwriting and vocals:

Riverside from Poland:

A great rocky track :

Two beautiful quieter ones:

and Gazpacho from Norway, great singer sounds like Muse.

Roll on next year...
