How good is this! and who can recommend similar stuff? This song seems to be a bit of an outlier, for me the way it grooves along, the tempo, the organ, the bass... it’s crazy fun to listen to.

I was coming back in to post this! It's Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters. The funkiness of that drum beat had me obsessed for years and I love the way it speeds up and builds layer after layer.
