Your favourite album of 2019

As we slide inexorably towards the end of the year, it's time to reflect on what album - released in 2019 - has given us most pleasure; been returned to most often.

There are probably a few releases still to come this year - I'm really looking forward to the DJ Shadow offering out this coming Friday - but I'm going to pin my colours to the mast early.

A huge number of great albums from smaller/indie bands this year, but I think I have to give it to a major artist; I just can't stop listening to it!

I liked the Rammstein album too.

Others I remember from this year:

Sound & Fury by Sturgill Simpson
Wolf God by Grand Magus
War in my mind by Beth Hart

There's probably others that will come to mind later.....

Feral Roots,Rival Son's,the title track,and To Bad are the best of modern rock,and shooting stars is anthemic live with the crowd singing along

This. They absolutely nailed it, but Fear Inoculum is a pretty close 2nd, with Rammstein a close 3rd, tied with Jimmy Eat World (although it's very short).

It's been a good year.

Vampire Weekend - Father of the Bride. Saw them live last night and twice at Glastonbury and it really cemented that.

That is a good album.

Don’t think there’s many that’s jumped out this year but I’m going to go for either....

Some of my favourites from this year...

Airbourne - Boneshaker
Slipknot - We Are Not Your Kind
Sabaton - The Great War
Volbeat - Rewind, Replay, Rebound

I'm torn between Volbeat's latest and this as a favourite though, Amon Amarth - Berzerker. Their last three albums have been far more polished but just as heavy, this one is probably their best.



Yet to pick up Rammstein's latest so I'm sure that's a contender too.
