A squeaky voice, and a chord progression that is everywhere these days : a I / IV / vi / V, so in this case a C# / G# / Bm / F#

Yebbut, diatonically that doesn't strictly work. In a major key the I, IV and V will be major chords but the vi will be minor. Of course, you could use borrowed chords from a relative major or minor, or do a plagal shift from - say - a perfect 5th to a major 4th to a minor 4th before resolving to the tonic chord (a Beatles favourite, that was).

I suppose what I was trying to say is that any combination of a root / fourth / fifth / minor 6th chord progression - these days - has been done to death. Something different, for example, would be to devise a tune in the key of G major where the verse uses the minor 2nd / major 4th / perfect 5th and only resolves to G in the chorus.
