leading on from reading another thread I though this might be an interesting thread. What world renowned band/artist do you consider to be massively over-rated in terms of their performance (they could have brilliant songs but you'd, nearly, rather watch paint dry)?

I'd like to put up 3:
Rolling Stones
Springsteen
Bob Dylan

Let the arguments begin... hehe

the great thing about music is that is is highly subjective / personal.

we all have different tastes in music because it affects us in different ways.
but with this comes the problem whereby people get super-passionate about specific artists and sometimes get blinkered, hence the potential bunfighting.

back on topic, I cannot stand;

Led Zeppelin (plant's voice does my head in)
Beatles ( just not my thing)
U2 ( just so generic, and Bono is a massive bellend)
greenday after Nimrod
Nirvana (despite being a huge fan of other grunge bands)

...in your opinion, which is what the thread's all about.

I don't like the Beatles either!

I'd go with the Beatles, I don't get the hype over them, maybe I was just the wrong generation.

Also David Bowie, couldn't sing and his songs were mostly ste.

Pretty much this. There was better music at the time. They have some catchy songs but so did Take That and I can honestly say I've never once thought about buying any of their music either.

I never really got Queen either but I can accept they wrote good music, performed really well and had a charismatic front man. Their songs just don't appeal to me.
