just had YouTube on (as well as remembering concerts I've been to) and it struck/reminded me how many (formerly) great vocalists really just don't have it anymore. A few that immediately spring to mind are:

David Coverdale
Ian Gillian

maybe it's just their style of singing or their voice isn't up to it - who else can you think of (or alternatively who can still perform the same types of vocals)?

Bonnie Tyler was ok in the 80's but now sounds like a cement mixer, that smokes 40 a day.

Ian Anderson. Saw his latest version of Tull last year and his voice has gone. Still blows a good flute though.

Thread had only been going for 5 minutes.

Glenn Tilbrook seems to struggle a little now .

The original version could, the replacement was never as good.

He was, in his prime, an astounding good singer, one of the best in popular music history.

I'd say Elton John has been passed it for many years. Paul Young pretty much totally lost his voice. Fish from Marillion, totally shot.

Sam Brown, but there's a medical reason for that they don't seem to have got to the bottom of, on tv not that long ago when they ran the Harrison tribute gig.
