Q Magazine to stop publication
Discussion
"Q Magazine, a cornerstone of rock journalism in the UK, is to close after 34 years.
The magazine's circulation had fallen to 28,000 per month from a peak of 200,000 in 2001."
Don't think I will miss all those list
Is mixmag still being published?

Part of me is sad about the demise of Q because it is the end of an era, the last of the mainstream music press that I used to enjoy - particularly in the 90s when I was an avid consumer of NME, Melody Maker, Select, Vox etc (all since long gone). Q was a bit more mature than those titles so I moved on to it a bit later but they did some great interviews in their day.
Saying that it had become a shadow of its former self in recent years so I'm not surprised - relying on the aforementioned lists rather than in depth interviews and articles, and album reviews that were literally all 3 and 4 stars as if they were afraid to offend!

Agree with the comments about "it's day" having passed. I subscribed for about 5 years, around 2000 & managed to win their 2000 Mercury Award crossword competition - which they promptly credited to my wife in the next month's issue, as she'd made the call to arrange delivery of the CD's & home cinema system. Ar*e!
Shame though - Modern Classics magazine gone today too.
