In ear metronome.

Not sure if this will help but our drummer has disappeared so I'm temporarily shifting from keys to sticks.

Can play basic beats but tend to waver every so often and was wondering if something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Korg-IE1M-IE-1M-In-Ear-Me... would be helpful?

All I'm really looking for is a basic click without the ting of a mechanical metronome.

And yes, I know the only real answer is practice more.

Have downloaded a metronome app (didn't think of that as not much of a phone user), just need to find a headphone now!

I would get in ear monitors rather than normal headphones for hearing your metronome, and indeed whatever else you want in your monitor.

It’s so much safer for your ears than blasting it through a earbuds to be heard over the drums.

A mistake I made only once at a fairly large show.... playing music from my phone between the opener and headliner.
I had put it in flight mode, but forgot to turn the wifi off (fast venue production wifi, not public).
Cue: a text 'ping', then an incoming call in quick succession playing through the system
It did get a cheer though
