Name that tune from obscure information!
Discussion
I heard a song today but it was in the background and I'm looking to see if anyone can identify it from some really obscure information!
So it sounded similar to the more trippy/chilled out guitar music from The War on Drugs.
I'd say it was rock genre.
It sounded 'current'.
It was quite mellow.
It had hints of Goldfrapp's Everything is Never Enough, the feel and the sound of the verse.
I think there was a woman and a man singing alternately but not overly powerfully.
The key thing was there was a kind of bassy beat that was over the top (instead of in the background) of the whole song,
I'd say legato in structure and alternating between two notes.
So kinda:
Do-do-do-do-do,
Do-do-do-do-do,
De-de-de-de-de,
De-de-de-de-de.
Any ideas?..!

Possibly something by The XX???
Not them I don't think BUT there is a repetitive beat in this https://youtu.be/szajLz3PCgo that keeps going up and down the octaves (is that the right term?) and that song had that similar pattern but at only two notes or octaves and the beat was more prominent. It had a similar eclectic feel but slower and more chilled out and with less emphasis on the vocals.
Thanks a lot.

Possibly "De do do do dah dah dah dah" - The Police?!
No, much newer. When I type do or de I mean the beat, alternating between two notes, do and the higher de. It doesn't actually sound like the words do or de, it's just hard to put the sound in words!
I imagine the beat is like someone strumming a bass guitar, again if that's the right terminology? I'm clearly not a musician!
Arcade Fire good shout. I thought of them.
But it's much slower in tempo to that. I'd get up for AF, this tune was a chiller.
That bass-guitar kind of beat that I mentioned is prominent, over the rest of the song. I mentioned War on Drugs more because the tempo is similar to this and the singing is as laid back as this:

That beautiful sounding guitar at the beginning - there's a bit of that in this song.
I mentioned the Goldfrapp song because it's like a blend of that guitar music and maybe a bit of electronic, with a bit of crossover.
Apologies all for the vagueness.
It's gonna bug me!
