Cringeworthy lyrics
Discussion
Now being a fan of rock I'm not averse to cringy lyrics ("Slide It In", "Love Gun" etc) but I stumbled across an old dance track today Rhythm is a Dancer and heard/remembered... "I'm serious as cancer, when I tell you rhythm is a dancer..."
What other cringeworthy (or straight out inappropriate) lyrics are there?

I'm afraid of the dark,
Especially when I'm in a park
I don't want to see a ghost,
It's a sight that I fear most
I'd rather have a piece of toast
There are plenty more, I'll be back when i've had the radio on a bit.
nothing cringe about those lyrics or that song. its pretty funny and randomI'm afraid of the dark,

Cutting Crew;
“I just died in your arms tonight.”
Sounds innocuous right?, but Cutting Crew member Nick Van Eede said that he came up with the lyrics during sex, “dying” is a play on the French phrase, ‘la petite mort’, ( a little death), aka an orgasm.
every day's a school day “I just died in your arms tonight.”

Mind you it was years before I found out about The Vapours "Turning Japanese"Evoluzione said:

Mind you it was years before I found out about The Vapours "Turning Japanese"The repeated lyrical refrain of "I think I'm turning Japanese" was widely believed by Americans to describe an orgasm induced by masturbating, but actually was intended to describe teen angst or alienation after a romantic breakup.
On topic -
And I know you love Shrek
'Cause we've watched it twelve times
But maybe you're hoping for a fairy tale too
And if your DVD breaks, today
You shoulda got a VCR
'Cause I never owned a Blu-Ray
True say
Not Ed Sheeran's best

You are probably wrong with what you found out:

It was an American girlfriend who told me about “turning Japanese” for jerking off, sounded total BS to me, but I wasn’t dumb enough to dispute it when I was getting laid regularly in NYC.The repeated lyrical refrain of "I think I'm turning Japanese" was widely believed by Americans to describe an orgasm induced by masturbating, but actually was intended to describe teen angst or alienation after a romantic breakup.

We don't have to take our clothes off to have a good time,
We could dance and party all night

Rebecca Black - Friday
An infamous song. In fairness, it never should have been known at all, it has an interesting history. An example:
"Seven a.m., waking up in the morning
Gotta be fresh, gotta go downstairs
Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal.."
I haven't listened you it in years, but when it became famous years back when I was younger, the hilarious irony of listening to such a bad song with my friends became lost, and I actually ended up liking it. If it comes on and I'm not paying attention I'll hum along.
Enjoy!
