i've had my yearly run down from spotify.....
i don't listen in the car as i have a cd player in there but generally use spotify in other situations..running,mowing the grass etc....
i would be interested to hear how much other pistonheaders actually stream music.. given how much i listen to on physical format (vinyl/cd at home in the comfort of my man cave, cd's in the car)...i was quite shocked at how much spotify time i racked up in the last 12 months...
14,700 minutes, or 245 hours...so an average of just under 5 hours a week...... it feels like a lot seeing as my listening time on physical formats is waaaaay higher...
anyone care to share their usage??.. just so i know if i'm a bit of an obsessive or not

I'm on Spotify all the time. I use it in my car a lot but my home Hi-Fi kit is geared up for streaming. I don't really use my CD's or vinyl anymore. I'd say 90% of the time I use Spotify and the rest is my CD collection ripped to FLAC via thumbnail USB. I also use USB in my home office and I've got one in my car too. Spotify is just easier to discover music and keep adding new stuff to my playlists.
Unfortunately my 2020 top songs are skewed as my 4 year old has his own playlist with an Alexa speaker device in his room plus his iPad. I'm not using the family subscription so we share mine. He loves music so for every listen to a great indie track, there's just as many listens for baby shark or Tarzan Boy. :-)

That’s what happens when you play the Daily Mix playlists.

I live on my own and have Sonos throughout the house, so I tend to play a Daily Mix as background music if I’m doing something other than watching tv. I’ve had an hour of Stereolab, Grizzly Bear, Big Thief et al already this morning. Pre-coronageddon I’d do 12 hours a week just on the commute.

53372 minutes (have it on a lot in the background working from home!)
435 genres, 229 new
1198 artists
Top artists:
1. Katatonia
2. DMA's
3. Four Tet
4. Martin Grech
5. The Midnight
Love the stats - its a shame more people don't use Last.FM anymore, I love tracking what I'm listening to most etc.

I'm on Tidal so can only see top tracks but judging from those:-
1. Beatrice Dillon
2. Funkadelic
3. The Orb
4. Bicep
5. Hans Zimmer
On second thoughts, this doesn't seem to pick up what I've been listening to on the Naim app through Tidal at home. The ones above have mostly been while at work.

I swapped from, spotify to deezer this year so mines a bit messed up, I listen too a lot of music and podcasts.
what made you swap out of interest?I had issues with spotify mixing music up and mixing genres in its daily mix, where as deezers flow just seems to work so much better.
