Have a look at this:-
Marty Schwartz lesson for "Let It Snow" by Dean Martin & Frank Sinatra
A surprisingly simple chord progression for the main verse : C / G7 / C / C / D7 / G / Dm / A7 / Dm / G / G7 / C
Now, I've only been studying basic music theory for a year or two but this is the sort of progression that can be endlessly fiddled with. I've already this evening added 7th chords and dim7 chords.
For a bit of fluff leading up to Christmas, how about we all have a "fiddle" with this tune to see what interesting results we can come up with? Maybe post some vids, add your thoughts, or describe your changes to the original chord sequence.
My take, so far, goes:-
Cmaj7 / G7 / C / Cmaj7 / D7 / G / Dm7 / Am7 / Dm7 / G / G7 / C Abdim7 / C
Interested to see what the more accomplished PH musicians can come up with.
