Led Zep at MSG '73, the swagger on show here is a band at the top of their form.

It's a good version done by Metallica. Have to say it's hard to think of a live band with less stage presence though.
Riff Raff - ACDC https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErXbMB9R5-0
Saw them (Manchester) in '79 on this tour. Had a sore neck for a week from headbanging
Abiding memory is 1. Angus Young jumping from the speaker tower at the beginning of this song and, 2 The acne covering Angus' sweat soaked back when he did his shirtless audience walkabout later in the gig.The 'oo doing 'Won't Get Fooled Again' at Shepperton Studios on 28th May 1978, this was Moonie's last gig....

Sadly after the passing of Moonie, but nevertheless, a damn good performance at Live Aid '85, only 2nd to Queen...!

Rammstein at nimes a couple of years back. epic.
Skin (of skunk anansie) doing solo gigs during the no skunk years to less than a couple of hundred people
Nine inch nails doing hurt live - mind blowing. Every time
New model army doing green and grey live - also mind blowing, probably 20 or 30 times
Metallica secret gig in the tent download 02 or 3 maybe
ACDC ballbreaker tour brum NEC arena 96, first properly big gig at 18
PWEI reformation tour shepherds bush both nights (not old enough for back in the day)
rammstein in the early noughties at brixton/docklands doing the complained about gigs where people got singed by the pyro
Prodigy last tour at ally pally
Sisters of mercy when they weren't sh!t
Young Gods (if you need to ask..,)
wildhearts playing shiddy venues years ago. also therapy? and pitchshifter.
King prawn last ever gig, upgraded to the forum due to phenomenal demand. And subsequent gigs
And dreadzone, every gig they've done.

Although neither sound nor picture quality is up to much, I always enjoy this phone footage of The Stranglers, taking the stage at Le Mans as the race goes on nearby. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5adRzpIkZo
I've seen plenty of better quality recordings of them playing live (like this recording from a festival in 2018), but that one just has something about it.

Slayer '94 - newport centre
Prodigy '96 - Newport Centre
Therapy? - '94 Top Rank Cardiff
Sepultura - '96 Newport Centre [penultimate gig with original lineup!}
>
OOI all the above were available on Bootleg video - Sheer Force & Dynamics of each is remarkable even on VHS
Still watch 'em today - modern bands Don't have that intensity IMO

Top 3 gigs thread from 2009(!)
No change
1). Robin Trower, Wishbone Ash, Yes - Reading '75
1st festival gig, 18y.o. stayed in a tent with mates, part of growing up. I'd hate it now though, what no en suite?
2). Pure Motivation Trinity Hall Bristol early 80's
My own P.A. ace soundman Sir Jet of Noise local northern/soul band in atmospheric local venue. The band were big, always difficult to mix with horns, stylish characters, all the moves and 2 lead singers. In Trinity Hall, Bristol, a big ex-church with crap acoustics for amplified music...
...but this was one of those times when everything clicked and the sound was perfect, the band tight, the songs catchy and the audience jumping.
3).= the Undertones Bath Pavilion late 70's
totally lost in the punk pop-tastic joy of it all
= Graham Parker & the Rumour Bristol Colston Hall '77
had a raging toothache but from the best opening live gig song ever (TM) of Stick to Me on I suffered little pain till the end
= Ian Dury, Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, Wreckless Eric etc. Stiffs Live Stiffs Bath University '76
seminal or what, and that closing ensemble version of Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll magic
= the Enid London Marquee several late '70s/early 80's
packed so tight the sweat dripped off the ceiling...
...and they're a prog. band. That's doing them an injustice, the nearest thing electrified music gets to the majesty of classical and again such a joyous atmosphere,
I realise this is a cheat but I really couldn't pick only 3

Machine Head supporting?Saw that tour at Wolves...MH were bloody brilliant then Slayer came on and showed them they still had work to do!
Found myself a handful of people across from Barney (Napalm Death) just behind the pit.Others for me:-
- Faith No More at Download 2009
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7nFiNk157o
- Front 242 @ Brixton, probably late-90s. Thought I was going to pass out from exhaustion and J-L de Meyer was still going despite being 40+

- NIN 2014 final (!?!) tour. Pulled out all the stops, including a rare performance of Down In It. Blown away...
- Tool...pretty much any gig up until they stopped playing the old stuff about 6/7 years ago.
