Also a lifelong Floyd fan here, I first saw them live in the mid 70s, I think I was still at school. Went to Earls Court when they performed Animals, complete with the infamous flying pig (and others).

Without getting too Xmas-Eve maudlin, as I watched that video above I couldn't help thinking how sadly relevant it is really to where we find ourselves today, minus the radioactivity levels.

I think DG has been pretty clear that he's retired from touring. And I thikn there is even less chance of a reunion with Pink Floyd. They have all said they wouldn't work again without Richard Wright. Roger Water's preference for 180 date, politically slanted worldwide jaunts is so far away from DG's notion of touring means it'll never happen.
As for the Pompei show - it wasn't guest only - I had my finger over the 'buy now' button when the tickets were on sale, but we were already going to see him in Belguim and it just didn't fit.

I’ve been a huge fan for decades. I was lucky to see them at Wembley back in the 90s. There’s zero chance we’ll see DG and RW on stage together again. Very recently RW was slagging off DG on his website. They haven’t sorted out their differences and I don’t think it will happen any day soon. They’re both very strong characters and seem to be utterly entrenched. Besides, now Richard Wright is no longer with us one of the key ingredients is missing. I couldn’t imagine hearing Echoes without his beautiful harmonies.

On a slight tangent. Has anyone been to see Nick Masons saucerful of secrets?
I was going to see them in luxembourg during the summer but Covid put a stop to that.
Always been a Floyd fan but never seen them live. Seen most of the cover bands and really enjoyed them but really was looking forward to Nick tour as I love the early floyd works more than the latter stuff.

Should have seen him last October but for obvious reasons didn’t. There was a show on Sky Arts you may be able to download if you have a subscription.

We went to see Saucerful of Secrets in Manchester in 2019 and were booked again for this year. A brilliant show with the old songs brought to life with great musicians and sound equipment. We’re going again in 2021 hopefully. Book it!

I went to watch David’s Pompeii show at the cinema. It wasn’t one of his best and the backing singers got the go-ahead to destroy Great Gig in the Sky. I actually had a bit of an argument about it with Guy Pratt in a Facebook group.

Terrible compared to the Pulse concert where the singing was composed and not over the top, in Pompeii it was mostly screaming and the song was destroyed.

I saw them in their tour and again at Loreley. Great to watch and to hear the early songs again. No doubt written with a healthy supply of lsd and probably the best way to still enjoy it.
For me Waters was the main songwriter that I liked the most and gave Floyd their character. His solo stuff still stands the test of time. Having said that, Gilmour Is also amazing.
Happy that I saw them when I could. Regretful that it can’t happen again in any guise.
