...does anyone else find this a bit off?
Tours from big artists that are scheduled this year in the optimistic belief we'll be shortly piling into arenas, seems a bit gouge given the uncertainty. So you're supposed to give over (what for some will be hard earnt) money to multimillionaire rock stars and sit on the hope a gig might happen.
And don't sell me the support the industry line - I really doubt the big promoters who'll be the ones sitting on all the $ are "sharing it around"
Don't get me wrong I would love for the tours to happen, I want the industry and all the artists to survive and I hate what's happening, but I can't see this as in any way useful
Or am I overreacting?

You don't have to buy them, anyone with any sense won't either.
People with more money than sense will so let them.
I don't know what things are like under covid but for years now if you dont buy tickets the nanosecond they go on sale you'll miss out as most end up on resale sites at 3x+ face value, at least for anything hot. Large promoters have been shown to be complicit in this.People with more money than sense will so let them.
It's a tough decision for anyone who's a big fan of a band and would really hate to miss out on seeing them live, if you think it's a simple logical choice then I've gotten a lot more than you from many of the gigs I've attended;)

The result of too much head banging maybe?
Sorry, but I do look at it logically, it helps me get through this. In my head i've written off everything which Covid has spoiled and won't be drawn into any of this optimism. We've had 9 months to get used to it, and it'll be here for quite a while yet.
Personally I just focus on the things it can't ruin, the certainties.
