76. Not old in today's terms.
Tamla Motown was part of my youth, as it was for many, in spite of me being more a 'rock' person.

Mary was at the heart of keeping the group going after Diana Ross went solo, and when most thought they would fail.

In fact in 1970, now with Jean Terrell, the Ross-less Supremes in commercial terms began to better their previous success - songs like the anti-Vietnam album track 'Bill, When Are You Coming Back?', 'Stoned Love', and a great run of singles like 'Up the Ladder to the Roof', 'Nathan Jone's', 'Floy Joy' and 'Automatically Sunshine' (the latter two featuring Terrell and Wilson sharing lead vocals) proved they could still succeed.

Wilson revealed much of her angst in her book 'Dreamgirl - My Life as a Supreme' in 1987.
An updated version came out in 2000, the same year as a Supremes reunion tour was planned (but without Mary featuring).
Awful ticket sales led to the tour being cancelled halfway through.

Mary had only recently announced she was about to release a new LP.

RIP
