Anyone here know their stuff when it comes to old Hammond organs?

My dad died back in December so I'm in the process of clearing the house, included in which is a large item in the form of an RT-3 organ he got from his old church, probably around almost 20 years ago now.

Does anyone know what the going rate for such a thing might be? Any help would be massively appreciated as it'll probably have to be a gumtree or ebay effort.

What a lovely thing!

It's basically a B3 in a church frock. B3s are very sought after, but these are under the radar and feature a full-size pedalboard.

You'll need to market it as a B3 alternative and I would imagine Ebay would be your best bet. Sadly, it won't be worth anything like as much as a B3, but I would guess it's worth between £1500-£3000.

Should also add, yours has the PR40 speaker cabinet. These aren't as sought after as Leslie cabinets, with their rotating horn, but it's a nice extra.

Cheers for that.

The black keys for presets on the lower left don't function correctly- the detent doesn't hold them in place any more so they'd have to be held down for the lower keyboard to function. Is that a big deal? Tempted to chuck it on gumtree for a grand and see where it gets me.

That issue certainly affects the value, as it would need a savvy buyer to take the risk. Worth contacting a Hammond repair specialist to get a second opinion. The UK Hammond Organ website has a list of approved service centres that would be your first port of call.

I still think anything specialist does better on Ebay but if you're in a well-populated area, Gumtree's worth a punt, especially if it's spares or repair.
