There have been threads in this are on great vocalists, great drummers, etc.

Let's have one to celebrate songs that show off a band's rhythm section at its best.

I'll start with some old rock:

You could replace that drumbeat with a metronome.

(Specifically during the instrumental section in the middle which is tight as a gnat's chuff)

Beat those...

This one, with Mustaine on rhythm guitar, Ellefson on bass and Menza on drums, is epic:-

For me, this line up of Megadeth was as tight as anything.

Steely Dan have great moments, but "Peg" has a great feel with the "Purdie Shuffle":-

Then again, anything with Walter Becker playing bass will be on point.

No thread on rhythm sections would be complete without Led Zep. This is one of my favourites, in this case explained by musical polymath Rick Beato:-

How about the Benny Goodman Orchestra with Gene Krupa on skins:-

Jaki Liebezeit / Hoger Czukay are pretty spiffy and could move things forward at a pace.

This thread would be poorer without the great late Neal Peart and Geddy Lee

Steve Harris and Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden

Some leftfield stuff

Queensryche's Scott Rockenfield and Eddie Jackson

Strange as it may seem, I saw Huey Lewis & The News back in the day and they were pretty good, but then The Tower of Power appeared behind them. Damn they were good !

Good call!

I just remembered, Rex and Vinne J on bass & skins respectively in Pantera were exceptional:-

It doesn’t have to be flashy.

Booker T & The MGs. Al Jackson was the most ‘driving’ drummer I ever heard, and as for Donald ‘Duck’ Dunn, simply the most inventive of all bassists when it comes to riffs.

In this video they are entertaining a bunch of rather bemused Scandinavian school kids.

As for British bands I have long thought that the most under-rated ever were The Blockheads. If you want a rhythm section, try this one out.
