20 years ago tomorrow he passed.

Absolute bloody shame.

Big heart, big vocals, huge presence.

Never forgotten.

I’m still pissed of that great guy ended up like he did in that hotel room. Really sad.

But he left some brilliant songs.

Time fly's. I remember Stuart and his son on the radio not long before his death all positive. It just shows how people hide their demons!

Skids and Big Country played a big part in my life during my mid-teens/early twenties..
Saw Big Country at Knebworth in 1986 where they supported Queen on their "Magic Tour"..
Have a couple of good compilations to look back and listen fondly to as well..

They played the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen last night, and they're in Glasgow on Friday.

RIP - have most of the Stuart Adamson Big Country albums.

One of the good fortunes of being in my 50s was that I managed to see Big Country several times when they were in their pomp.

A consumate live band with a fanatical fan base - they and Stuart in particular knew how to get a venue jumping. Not many bands I've seen since have managed to create the same energy in a room(although I partly blame the onset of the mobile phone for this!)

A very underated guitarist and songwriter - it was a sad day 20 years ago.

My brother took me to the Royal Court, Liverpool, in '83. I was 15. They blew my mind in the same way U2 had done a few months before!
He was an exceptional guitarist and a great writer.

I'd never really paid much attention to Big Country but for reasons unknown went to see them at the Wolverhampton Civic in 1994. I discovered that I'd been missing an absolutely cracking live band. Such a shame that he's no longer with us.

The video linked here, I watched a few times last after a few glasses.

It goes somewhere towards capturing what a Big Country gig was like.

Very fond memories of Leeds Town and Country club 1993.

The place was absolutely bouncing.
The final song they played that night was their cover of The Blue Oyster Cult Don’t Fear the Reaper.

The bouncing went up a whole over level.

Thanks for the memories Stuart. RIP.
