Could it be that they are too fast for most or is it the noise they made?

Anyway, whatever, Green Day gave it a go

and The Go Go's

Any more?

Apart from the fact all their songs are very short, share the same tempo, and sound almost identical? biggrin

I'm a diehard Ramones fan BTW.

Hahaha, this was my first thought too!

Though I think Tom Waits covered I Don't Wanna Grow Up.

Red Hot Chili Peppers covered Havana Affair on their Slane Castle gig in about 2004.

In my (currently dormant) band we covered 41 of theirs at each gig... doesn't take long at live speed...

Some of the "we're a happy family" covers album is pretty good, some not so much.

edit - google tells me it was 1991 I saw the Loco Live tour at the Barrowlands, that sounds like quite a long time ago. frown I'm sure I had the live album of that tour before I saw the tour itself.

Ditto. There's a handful of favourite tracks I focus on and sidestep a lot of the rest.

When visiting NYC I made an expedition to Coney Island and Rockaway Beach areas just to check out what the Ramones had been on about!

"I met her at the Burger King
We fell in love by the soda machine
So we took the car downtown
The kids were hanging out all around
Then we went down to Coney Island
On the coaster and around again
And no one's gonna ever tear us apart
'Cause she's my sweetheart
All right, oh yeah."

"Chewin' out a rhythm on my bubble gum
The sun is out and I want some
It's not hard, not far to reach
We can hitch a ride
To Rockaway Beach."

Correct, it's actually a Motorhead tune, although the Ramones confused folks somewhat when they covered it.

for a fan, a very honest summation.

don't be despondent, how many artistes have covered, REM, U2, Coldplay, Elbow or Muse songs ?

One of my favourite albums, shame it's not on any of the music streaming sites frown
