Creamfields - an epiphany
Discussion
As a 55 year old bloke schooled in the field of classic rock and indie, EDM has been a bit of an anathema to me. Don't dislike it but not what you'd call my usual preferred genre.
However, I had to cover Creamfields South in Chelmsford (photography) and expected I'd stay a few hours at the most. Ended up there to the end. My word, the energy is palpable! Great crowd too - lovely vibe. I've been to school Nativity plays with more edgy crowds!
Anyway, a few pics....
It occurred to me that it's not so much a gig but more participatory musical theatre.

Dance Anathemas?
Great pics though, takes me back to my yoof, 'avin it large in the likes of Nation, Ministry of Sound and Gatecrasher. Nice to see that the current generation still likes a choon.

Looks like you were doing the stage with Deborah De Luca. Did you get to experience Green Velvet? I hope you did, Curtis has been tearing festivals apart since the 90s.However, I had to cover Creamfields South in Chelmsford (photography) and expected I'd stay a few hours at the most. What were you up to 35 or so years ago when 'EDM' was being refined?
