Happy birthday Sir Paul.

Still filling stadiums all over America, despite the voice being not what it was.

Bought my first Beatles record in 1963, (Please please me),,,,,An incredible career.

To paraphrase Jasper Carrott, he wasn't even the fourth best musician in The Beatles.

Maybe, but he had charisma and character for sure, which the public love, unlike someone such as Kier Starmer for example, who has neither.

Happy birthday Sir Paul.

Kier Starmer was the Fifth Beatle?

For some reason it seems perfectly reasonable that Paul McCartney is about 80, but it seems like a really bizarre that Kate Bush is 63. I suppose it's the difference between people older than me getting old (perfectly natural), and people about my age getting old (does not compute).

Actually, McCartney is one of the greatest bass players of all time, and tremendously influential.

Complete indifference.

Well, actually not so totally indifferent, because I have now posted a 23 word reply expressing my indifference. Illogical, or what?

I'm in two minds about him retiring from live performance. His voice is well past its best, but it would still be a hell of a box ticked to see him while he is still around. Bona fide geniuses come around very rarely, and he is absolutely one of those.

Not sure if serious? In his prime, he had a tremendous voice. Massive range, superb intonation, and a clear, pure falsetto.

Can you point me towards some songs where you think his pitching is off, or his falsetto is not quite right? I'm curious. (as someone who sings for a living).

He was good in his day, but that’s a long time ago now. He should have retired around the late 1980’s
