I'm off tomorrow for 8 days and rather than streaming music from the internet with extortionate roaming charges, sitting in silence when there's no coverage or listening to Edith Piaf on repeat, I need to download some 'new' albums to listen to.

A few artists/bands/genres I like;

Muse
Wolf Alice
The Libertines
Britpop
Grunge
Weezer
Teenage Fanclub
Wet Leg
'Dad Rock' (although I hate the term)
Arctic Monkeys
Radiohead

Does anyone have any suggestions for music I might like?

I’ll have a listen. iTunes describes it as ‘metal’ which normally isn’t my thing but there’s no harm in trying. Thanks.

Reading their Wikipedia page they sound like they’ll be right up my street. I’ll put them on the list. Cheers.

Call Me Malcom - bit of rock, bit of poppy-punk, bit of ska (“I was broken when you got here” album is one of the best albums I’ve heard in years)

Louis Dunford - maybe more acoustic-y and the subject matter of some songs isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but very very good nonetheless.

Go Radio - American band, a few really good slower songs/ballads and some great soft rock tunes. Singer Jason Lancaster has some good solo stuff too (used to sing for Mayday Parade in the 00’s)

Me vs Hero - maybe a bit on the heavier side, but a cracking band (“days that shape our lives” is my fave of their albums)

I like pretty much everything on your list.

Give Frank Turner a try. Nominally he can be described as folk rock I suppose but also can properly rock out, especially live.

Don't get me wrong, some of DTs stuff is the pinnacle of Metal. Don't try Strapping Young Lad for instance - you'll hate it. But Dev also does some of the most ambient chill stuff you'll ever hear.. look up "Ghost". The stuff i suggested is much more accessible. think imagine Muse if it was rocked-up by Metallica.

If it's hours on the road then you might want something with legs but not too fatiguing to zonk out to:

Pavement - Crooked Rain/Terror Twilight
Scott 4 and Magic Car - European Punks
Vulfpeck - The Beautiful Game (warning, funk)
Big Thief - UFOF

Or a bit more in line with your list, old man, and more immediate:

The Lemonheads - It's a Shame About Ray
Beck - Mutations
Graham Coxon

To indulge your liking for Grunge:-

Nirvana : Bleach
Soundgarden : Superunknown & Down On The Upside
Pearl Jam : Ten & Vs & No Code

Following on from those, you may like:-

Smashing Pumpkins : Siamese Dream

ETA : Maybe some Steely Dan may float your boat? Some great tunes on Can't Buy a Thrill and Aja

I’ve added everyone’s suggestions to my library, I reckon there’s going to be at least some I like out of that lot. Thanks everyone, it’s been very helpful.

Always a risk to publicise your taste in music.

The OP is almost beyond hope, but hopefully "Dad Rock" [?] includes bands
and artistes who were were pioneers of Beat music and actually had chart success. like
Van Morrison, The Byrds, Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Velvet Underground.
