I was lucky enough to see him live a couple of years back. A fantastic guitarist and a great stage presence.

Saw him on TV a number of times, talking about his Cancer and as a guide/tutor or Guitar Star a few years ago. Seemed a genuinely nice guy even if his on stage persona was a little odd.

A great guy! I was lucky enough to see him live twice in Aberdeen - tremendous fun and tremendous drive. I wish I'd been able to see the original Dr. Feelgood lineup. A sad loss and admirable courage.

I met him briefly in Southend way back, spoke to him briefly then thanked him for the minute or so he gave me before he went on his way.

What a wicked bloke. I saw him supporting the stranglers a few years back in Bristol with my dad and was utterly fascinated by his bizarre machine gun guitar style of play and I was hooked from the moment I watched this weird man with his beady eyes and his band play the stage.
Later saw him in frome I think, read a few of his books and Oil City Confidential was great watching.

I'm well late to the party with him but what an extremely interesting man with an incredible style of play.

R.I.P. He had such a unique style and was so influential in the punk and new wave movements.

I can vividly remember seeing them for the first time in the mid 70's at the Guildhall in Portsmouth. When they started up the guitarist Wilko seemed to shoot back and forth with the most amazing guitar rhythms/sound. Lee the singer in his rather grubby looking white suit blasted out on the harmonica.
Bands like 9 Below Zero had a very similar feel to their music and like many seeing them live was the only way.

We saw Wilko, in Watford, on his farewell tour, after he'd been diagnosed and been told his time was limited.
It was both euphoric and extremely poignant, a gig I'll remember for the rest of my life!

I did hear him though, rehearsing in a London pub whilst I was watching cricket at the Oval. Highlight of the day, can't remember much about the match.

My mrs. was a real Feelgood fan and saw them a fair few times at the Kursaal in Southend back in the day.

Saw Wilko back in 1995 as an old girlfriend wanted to go along, but I really didn't pay much attention as all I had in my head at that time was dance/techno stuff. Do remember him appearing to be on an elastic band on stage though.

Got into Dr. Feelgood thankfully years later.
