No, not the Terry Jacks, "we have joy, we have fun, flicking bogies at the sun" song, but the new Metallica album due out in April.

If the two current releases off of it (Lux Eterna and Screaming Suicide) are anything to by this is going to be quite special, I've pre-ordered it already I'm that excited. I think they are getting better with age.

As an aside, for any fans, I must ask the much debated simple question...

Lightning or Puppets, and why?

Amazon tell me it will be delivered today.

I'd forgotten all about it.

Listening to it now:

Quick overview: it's a modern Metallica album, so: some good, some average, songs a bit too long, definite "Load" era vibe to it (which I like).

As for Lightning or Puppets - Puppets, but only coz my tinnitus ravaged ears find very early Metallica too tinny.

ETA Inamorata could be off any of the first 5 Sabbath albums!

I also very much liked the two Load albums and couldn't understand the bhing about them at the time.

I've just had a very quick skip through listen of 72 Season.

Massive riffs, does have a Load & Justice flavour from what I've heard so far.

One thing for sure, it is proper heavy, which is nice evil

Puppets. Much more focused and angry, less cringeworthy lyrics.

Puppets, but Justice. If only it had been mixed properly.

We live in hope for a Pink Floyd style, live in the desert recorded version, with Jason on bass.
