Makes me feel a bit older. Still love it though and Joy Division and New Order are still regulars on my (new) turntable.

It was (and still is) a phenomenal track. Loved the original 12” packaging and am pleased to say mine is still here and going strong cool

My favourite Blue Monday story is Sunkist offered New Order 200,000 dollars for them to re-record it for an ad & to get Bernard Sumner to do it, Rob Gretton held up a piece of cardboard in front of him in the studio with $200,000 written on it.

(Urban myth or not) the sleeve cost so much to make that it (12") was sold at a loss.

And listening to the intro exposes the limits of the tape noise reduction system in use at the time. Hiss follows the beat smile
