That's pretty good IMO, and I see a lot of live music.

Does it move the world forward? That's a tougher question.

As I'm sure you already appreciate, in the music business 1% of the artists make 99% of the money.

A decent blues in the key of F, delta style, that IMO would benefit from a slide guitar solo using a National Steel.

As I said, good - traditional - Delta Blues that could benefit from some Elmore James style slide guitar

Well if he thinks it was dreadful why shouldn't he say so?

I also thought it was dreadful, am I harsh too?

On a more constructive note I found it reminiscent of the somewhat successful Nick Waterhouse who favours deliberately recording with a "vintage" sound. Seen him a couple of times.

Go on, then; enlighten us all.

Why is it "dreadful", exactly?

Contained nothing I haven't heard before thousands of times.

Three or four chords, three or four notes, and lyrics which would make the average nursery rhyme sound like Shakespeare by comparison.

That do ya?

I’m with stealth racer. Obviously can all play their instruments but, yeah this type of music has been done to death, so nothing new or interesting here. Formulatic. To be honest, as a guitarist, i always done my best to avoid playing this type of thing too often. When you see a typical pub blues band I just think they are lazy and really don’t have much appreciation of music.

It will, in as much as what you've done is largely describe a music genre that has been around for over 100 years and is still enjoyed by many. You may not be keen on Blues music but it is a broad church open to lots of interpretation, much of which (IMO) breeds wildly differing styles. Robert Johnson played the blues back in the 1920's, but totally different to - say - Joe Bonamassa today; it's still The Blues, though, and a genre I still enjoy listening to.

Anyway. I liked the tune in the OP and you didn't, and we've both tabled our reasons.

That'll do me.

I'm led to believe Stealthracer is a musician and composer.

It would be interesting to have a link to some of his material for PH review and comment.
