For my 18 year old daughter.
Budget up to 150/200.
We saw a goodman 65on in an antiques store for 130, but have no idea if good or not etc.
Thanks for any help.
If it's a real Goodman, that's an absolute bargain, and the seller doesn't know what he has. Do you have a photo?Budget up to 150/200.

I suspect it's not though...

I have always gone for better quality second hand acoustics - better value for money! If you want new then yes, the Yamaha F370 as above certainly fits the bill.
Yep a good s/h is excellent vfm but like cars caveat emptor! One needs to be clued up and maybe tooled up re wear and tear, neck straightness / action, cracks etc the list goes on. I had a dealer try and sell me a lovely And expensive guitar with a well but discernible repaired crack. Edited by Rh14n on Thursday 6th July 20:47

Yamaha the obvious choice I would say. I picked up a F310 for £50 in the late 90s and it stood me in good stead for years. Fender acoustic in the 150-200 bracket perfectly reasonable, but not as good as Yamaha.
As the guitar I play the most now, I’d highly recommend the Ibanez Talman electro acoustics, a tiny bit above your budget new I think but worth a look if you see a second hand one locally.

Have you been to https://www.soundaffects.com/
Thanks for all the advice.
We're going back to the antique shop to have a look at the goodman again .
not much info out there, but appears to be a luthier in america.
It did look and Sound very nice.
It was light and a nice size.
At probably 115 after a little negotiation, it's not a big risk.
And possibly a steal if hand crafted.
I found a forum where goodman shows his work so i can see how goodman is written on the guitar and the style of 'tensioners' etc he uses.
Will post a photo later.

One thing not mentioned so far which is important -What style does daughter want to play? And how seriously?
Nylon strings for classical, steel for folk/rock/jazz, and the instruments themselves are very different.
Nylon strings are easier on the fingers for an absolute beginner, but that restricts you to the classical genre.
It is a very competitive market, and most of the budget brands nowadays are pretty good.

One of these is helpful when you’re starting out 'Fender "Bullet" Chromatic Clip-On Tuner For Guitar/Bass' https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fender-Chromatic-Electric...
There’s a few apps that do tuning too - a Fender one and Cleartune.
Another good app is guitar tuna. As well as tuning it has lyrics and chords for gazillions of songs; original and simplified. It has a neat trick of following your playing and auto scrolling through the song
A capo is worth buying too.
