RIP Shane MacGowan
Discussion
It had to happen sooner or later, but still sad.

That's two singers gone from a very popular Christmas song that's played every year.
One far too young and Shane not far off my age
As someone who worked in ToysRus as a student over Christmas, that song was a ray of sunshine in a sea of saccharin sOne far too young and Shane not far off my age

For that Shane, Kirsty, I shall ever be grateful.

Genuinely the worst band I've ever seen live in 40 plus years of gig going (at Reading 1989) but left some really great songs particularly those on Rum, Sodomy and the Lash.
RIP Shane.
I was there for that, and it was the worst I've ever seen them. MacGowan fell off the stage at the start of the second song and didn't return.RIP Shane.
They've been genuinely wonderful at other gigs, notable those at Brixton Acadamy held pre-Christmas.
RIP Shane
Lovely little story about Shane from Kiefer Sutherland of all people, well worth two minutes of anyones time. https://twitter.com/JamesAHogg2/status/17302064706...
