This is probably going to be very personal and subjective, but what song intros are instantly recognisable, which ones get your pulse going in anticipation?

Three from the heavier end of the spectrum that dropped in my Spotify feed recently:-

(I started with "best song intro's", but it didn't feel right.)

I've not been a fan of metal since 1985 but for me the intro to Am I Evil by Diamond Head still does it, has to be the 1982 Diamond Head version from "Borrowed Time".

Loads of others from my post 1985 tastes but that one springs to mind immediately.

Honky Tonk Woman, Rolling Stones - the cowbells, the drum beat and the guitar riff - perfect intro.

She Sells Sanctuary, The Cult - the tease then the hit!

Then there's this. Maybe 11mins 30 secs is a bit long for an intro, but I can make a pretty solid case for it not being smile

The opening chords of Layla are probably one of the most iconic and recognisable guitar riffs on the planet. Similar with Another One Bites The Dust - such a simple opening sequence, yet instantly recognisable by anyone with ears.

woohoo best emoji ever for this!

My nomination is Bitter Sweet Symphony by The Verve, though. From the first draw of the bow across the strings, you just instantly know what is coming next (well, either a great song or just ITV’s coverage of an England international!).
